LEATHER

Maestro Samuel has worked from home making leather products for 20 years now. He was always innovating so that he could sell his products to local stores and on the streets. After someone discovered his talent, he joined with other talented men to start their own workshop. He is the designer and master sewer!

Juan Manuel is a musician by night and a leather worker by day. He plays 6 instruments and one at the workshop (the sewing machine!). He is Caralampio´s son and although he has been learning from his dad his whole life, it wasn’t until recently that he started calling this his job.

Elias is the business man behind the workshop. He manages sales, finds ways to bring designs and ideas to life. He is the head of the team- 6 talented artisans, and because he wanted to give all of them better opportunities, invited them to start their own.

Maestro Caralampio has been a leather worker for 26 years. He learned how to work with leather when he was 11 and grew up with his uncle who was one of the first men in Chiapas that began treating leather and making handbags.
